Babs's personal journey

Babs WilleBabs Wille

Sometimes life forces you to stop and take a good look at yourself. In this personal blog post, Babs speaks openly about her journey through difficult moments, self-reflection and growth. For years she was there for everyone else, as a mother, entrepreneur and partner, but she forgot about herself. Until she realised she could no longer keep it up and decided to choose self-love, setting boundaries and healing.

Her story shows how unconscious patterns, suppressed emotions and always pushing on eventually make room for change and personal development. Through courses and inner work, she found the tools to face life with more strength and awareness.

Want to know how Babs navigated her personal journey and how self-care changed her life? In this post we tell you how she learned to choose herself, and how she inspires others to do the same.

Babs's personal journey

As most of you know, this year hasn't always been easy for me. Because I truly value how involved you all are, I'd like to share my story with you. And perhaps someone will recognise something in my story and want to know how I dealt with it.

I realised that I was always trying to live up to other people's expectations, to keep everyone happy. But what I forgot was that I needed to keep myself happy too. I forgot my own needs, my own desires and my own pain as well. As a working mother of four children, I was always busy taking care of others. I wanted to be the perfect mother, a hard-working entrepreneur and a loving partner. I always wanted to be there for others, always solve the problems, always help. But somewhere beneath all that care and dedication, I felt a suppressed sadness. A sadness I didn't express, because I had to be strong: everything had to keep going and I was a linchpin holding it all together. Or so I thought…

This behaviour and my way of doing things came from my own unconscious beliefs, from experiences I had been through that had shaped me, including my years of dance training. I had learned to tuck my emotions away, to always keep going, never to give in to discontent. But now, at this point in my life, I could no longer avoid it. The sadness came to the surface and I could no longer ignore it. I realised that I couldn't keep putting myself last. I had to acknowledge myself, and give myself more attention and love. And for me, that was huge and difficult. But it was also liberating, because by acknowledging this, I could also begin to heal.

Slowly but surely, I began taking steps towards self-love and self-acceptance. I learned to set boundaries, to say no when something became too much. I learned to choose myself, to put my own needs first. And slowly but surely, I felt the pain soften and felt myself growing stronger.

Now, looking back on that period, I'm grateful for the lessons I have learned so far. I'm grateful for the people who supported me and showed me that I'm allowed to be who I am, with everything that comes my way. And I hope I can inspire others to acknowledge their own pain or sadness too, to choose themselves and to heal. Because we all deserve to be happy, to put ourselves first. We deserve to be free of suppressed feelings and to embrace ourselves with love and care.

Over the past two years I have taken many courses in personal development, self-love and self-care. Time and again I felt that I wanted to do something with this. Courses that shaped and helped me include breathwork, Theta Healing, trauma release, and training as a cacao facilitator and an inner essence journey guide. They gave me lots of tools that help with healing and growing. I've experienced it myself and discovered that many of us face similar challenges. Because I'd love to share this valuable growth, I've created a separate website for it. There you'll find everything to do with Love & Care. And to make it easy, you'll find the link to it below.

It's a beautiful addition to everything I'm involved in, and something I'd really love to share and bring out into the world, because I know we all need love and care.
